Welcome to

Canine Concept, Focused Dog Training

At Canine Concept, Focused Dog Training, teaching you the Foundation to understanding and developing trained Focus, which is, the process of teaching one’s dog to seek out for a chance to work, and to value that training time above everything else.

All classes will take you through a systematic and comprehensive plan to get you where you want to be; with a reliable companion who cooperates off leash, away from home and….when other things are going on around you!

It doesn’t matter what genetic package or temperament your dog is born with; You can bring out the best in your dog!
I strive to teach people that there is more to dog training then just sit, stay and down.
To me, it has to do with the quality of your connection
How long can it be maintained?
What interrupts your connection?
What pulls your dog out of connection?

If you struggle to keep and maintain your dog’s focus during training or in public?

You know you have been consistent in training and your dog knows all of the work, but he can’t seem to focus or stay engaged?

I always recommend tricks… Bringing home a baby puppy – start teaching them tricks. Got a dog with focus issues? Work hard on your tricks. Is your dog lacking in his recall? Work those tricks!

Now, I know what you’re thinking: why teach tricks when your dog’s recall is lacking? I used to wonder the same thing, until I saw the power of trick training with my own dogs. Training your dog to shake-a-paw or rollover is not going to magically train them to come when they are called. What it will do is the following:

The Frisbee Dog Sport is fun and easy for anyone. Sometimes that is our down fall, because many beginners only teach their dogs how to fetch (without even learning how to correctly throw a Frisbee) and we all know that Frisbees fly (should float up and forward) but in Toss & Fetch and Freestyle learning the correct  foundation training is the key to really have a reliable Frisbee Dog.
